Rubber for protection of pipes from rust

Steps for Creating a Rubber Lined Pipe

  • Fabricate the pipe
  • Inspect the Weldment
  • Prepare the Substrate (Blasting)
  • Apply Adhesive System
  • Make a RubberTube
  • Stitchthe Tube Seam
  • Insert the Tube into the Pipe
  • Applythe Flange Faces
  • Vulcanize (Cure) theLining
  • Inspect & Spark Test the Lining
  • Blast Unlined Surfaces
  • Paintthe Unlined Surfaces
  • Final Inspection

Rubber lined pipe is used to transport Abrasive Slurry solutions, Corrosive Chemicals, and many other liquids from one place to another. Since most Rubber Lined Pipe applications are for transporting abrasive slurries, we test our materials for abrasion resistance to ensure we are providing you with the best product suited to your application.

We install rubber linings in pipe as small as 1½” dia. and as large as 144″ dia. We vulcanize (cure) the lining installed in pipe up to 88″ diameter (flanged) in our autoclaves. Curing in an autoclave produces superior adhesion properties over other processes (i.e. atmospheric and internal steam). Autoclave curing also maximizes the lining life in the pipe versus other methods.

We apply rubber linings over many different pipe substrates including: carbon steel, aluminum, copper, brass, cast iron, stainless steel & fiberglass. We can fabricate and rubber line your pipe with a minimum lead-time. All Rubber Lined Pipe orders receive the same attention, whether it’s a large order, or a single piece.

Our expertise is in bonding rubber to metal parts. For mining operations, this includes: PipeTanksChutes; & Launders. We test our materials for their ability to resist abrasion.

Protective Coatings, has rubber lined tanks of all types, from the very small to the extremely large. Our experience in the industry allows us to select and install the lining best suited for your service conditions

Tank Lining Services we Provide:

  • Fabricate tanks up to 10′ dia for lining at our shop. (ASME code or non-code).
  • Inspect (spark test) existing rubber lined tanks to evaluate repair, replacement or re-lining.
  • Remove existing rubber lining prior to installing a new one.
  • Select the rubber lining best suited for your application
  • Install a new rubber lining in your tank at your facility or ours.
  • Vulcanize the rubber lining to provide maximum service life.
  • Paint the exterior of the rubber lined tank to your specifications.
  • Deliver “Turn Key” rubber lined tank to your facility.

Your inquiry will receive swift attention from our experienced estimating staff to provide you with a quick response. We can fabricate smaller tanks at our facility. We maintain a liaison with the best fabricators in the area for larger tanks.

Advantages of polymet rubber linings

  • Weight of rubber, polymet rubber is 80% lighter than steel linings that’s why its safer and easier to attach and deattach.
  • Rubber and polymet rubber linings last longer than steel linigs and does not lower the quality of grindings.
  • Lowering the weight of the linings helps load more minerals for processing, lowering the load on the bearings, crown gears and increases poduction of mills and decreases the work time of bearings and gears.
